Some time ago Dailyhunt was known as Newshunt. Dailyhunt was created as a Symbian app back in the year 2007 by 2 Ex-Nokia employees Umesh Kulkarni and Chandrashekhar Sohoni. In the year 2011 Newshunt was acquired by Virendra Gupta from its owners Umesh Kulkarni and Chandrashekhar Sohoni.  Virendra Gupta is the founder of Dailyhunt earlier known as Newshunt app and Umang bedi is the co-founder of Dailyhunt. Dailyhunt provides Indian Content and most importantly its a News app, and local language content application with over 227 Million app installs. Dailyhunt app comes up with many categories like arts, entertainment, news, comedy, videos, sports etc. Dailyhunt app's head office is located in Bangalore (Verse Innovation, No. 2, 1st Main, 1 st Block, Koramangala, Jakkasandra Extension, Bangalore, Karnataka, 560034). Dailyhunt provides you local language content in 14 languages. 

Is Dailyhunt A Chinese Funded app ?

During the time of 2020, when PM Narendra Modi was banning Chinese apps. Newshunt was into rumors that its a Chinese funded app. But according to The Economic Times article- dailyhunt app is controlled and funded by chinese investors through the company names ByteDance which plays a major role in censorship activities for Chinese Communist(Chinese Government) which is used for chinese propaganda in major democracies. But Dailyhunt is "Made in India"- app for news, arts, entertainment and videos.
